PAN-SEARED 500-GRAM RIBEYE

Do you love steak but feel a bit intimidated about cooking it yourself?

Don't worry! We are here to help you whip up an amazing steak dinner right at home, and it's easier than you think!

Here’s what you’ll need:

- A 500-gram slab of steak (about 1" to 1.5" thick)
- Some oil or tallow

Optional:
- Your favorite herbs (rosemary or mixed herbs work great)
- Butter
- Garlic

Let's get cooking:

1️⃣ Prep your steak: Start by thawing your steak and letting it come to room temperature. Ideally, you should defrost it in the fridge overnight, then take it out about 20 minutes to an hour before cooking. This way, it’ll cook evenly and be less likely to end up gray and overcooked.

2️⃣ Pat it dry: Use a paper towel to gently pat your steak dry. This helps remove any excess moisture so that it can really sear nicely.

3️⃣ Season the steak: Generously sprinkle salt on both sides of the steak. This not only adds flavor but also helps tenderize the meat, creating that delicious caramelized crust we all love.

4️⃣ Choose the right pan and preheat: Grab a flat stainless-steel pan or a cast iron skillet; these do a fantastic job at searing. Heat it over high heat before placing the steak in it.

5️⃣ Add some oil: Drizzle a little bit of oil or tallow in the pan, and let it heat until it shimmers.

6️⃣ Sear the steak: Gently place your seasoned steak in the hot pan. You should hear a nice sizzle! Let it sear without moving it for about 2-3 minutes if you like it medium-rare. Adjust the time based on how thick your steak is and your preferred doneness.

7️⃣ Flip the steak: Flip the steak to the other side and sear for another 1-2 minutes, depending on how you like it cooked.

8️⃣ Optional: If you want to kick up the flavor, toss in some butter, garlic, and herbs. Basting the steak with the melted butter makes it even more delicious!

9️⃣ Rest the steak: Once done, take the steak out of the pan and let it rest for a few minutes. This step is super important—it allows the juices to redistribute, so your steak stays juicy and tender. If you cut into it right away, all those tasty juices will leak out.

🔟 Slice and serve: Slice the steak and dig in!

Enjoy your delicious steak!🥩
